STANLEY SAVAGE After a most courageous three and one half year battle with cancer, we his children announce our dad's final journey home on November 1, 2005 at the age of 73. Dad leaves behind his son Colin, daughter Carla (Brian), grandson Matthew, numerous sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Stan was predeceased by his wife Shirley (2004), his parents and parents-in-law, two sisters, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and two nephews. Dad was born on January 6, 1932 in Edmore, SK. Later married our devoted mother and they had two children. They built the family home in Winnipeg, where he resided just recently until he needed more care, so then moved to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Dad was forced in retirement at the age of 70 due to his illness. His love of life was his life of sales, his customers and dedication to the companies, whom he worked for; they will never find a more accommodating, reliable rep! Now Dad has one final road trip before he reaches his final destination. The family appreciates and thanks all who took part in helping Dad through his illness, especially during his final days, to make him as comfortable as could be, no need to mention names, as you all know who you are. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 710 Roanoke St. with Rev. Fr. Rob McDougall as celebrant. Entombment to follow at Assumption Chapel Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. Dad and Grandpa we love you, have a safe trip home, until we meet again. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
